My Story

Listen for a moment & hear me tell my tale…

As the daughter of a storyteller I grew up surrounded by stories. My father would entertain my brother and I at weekends, after school or on long car journeys with marvellous tales full of humour and wonder.

My grandmother could turn the simplest incident into an epic tale full of drama. Storytelling has always been a part of my life.

However, throughout my 20’s I had many different roles, lived in many different places. I studied, gaining a BSc, an MA and also completed 2 years of a PhD, I worked in tourism and at heritage sites, and I travelled.

I was constantly trying new things, but nothing satisfied me. Nothing until I ended up working at an historical site in Tasmania where I began telling stories.

Everything suddenly seemed to come together, and I knew what I wanted to do, what I had to do. I had to tell stories…

We have the right, or obligation, to tell old stories in our own way, because they are our stories.
